Characteristics And Advantages

FAKRA 2G is a small B-type coaxial RF connector released by Rosenberger in 2000, which is widely used in the Automotive Electronics industry, and may also be used in industries such as personal electric vehicles and light electric vehicles, such as surround view cameras, GPS navigation, autonomous driving and driver assistance systems. It has a characteristic impedance of 50 ohms, a maximum carrying current of 1A and a transmission frequency of up to 0 to 4 GHz, parameters that guarantee excellent electrical performance.

Compared to other similar connectors, such as CK MPR and FME, FAKRA 2G is lighter and more compact, with an interface size of only 2.5mm x 2.5mm, making it ideal for high-density, miniaturised PCB applications. It also has 14 mechanical layouts to choose from and is colour coded for easy identification and to prevent mismatches, making it more flexible in PCB design.

The FAKRA 2G connector operates at up to 6GHz and can handle 335 volts RMS continuously, which makes it an excellent performer for high-speed data transmission and signal processing. It is also designed to handle a temperature range of -40°C to +105°C and is available in a sealed version with a minimum of 100 insertions and extractions, which allows it to maintain stable performance in harsh environments.
